What counts
The market resolves to Yes if the Supreme Court has an equal number of justices appointed by Republican and Democratic presidents on January 20, 2029. It resolves to No if that balance is not achieved by that date. Readers often mistake the resolution date for the start of the new term rather than the specific deadline of January 20, 2029.
Written from Kalshi's resolution rules by the same model that writes our headlines. The rules on Kalshi are what decides it.
