What counts
The market resolves to Yes if the Energy Information Administration reports that Kentucky's total coal production for the entire calendar year 2027 exceeds 22 million short tons. It resolves to No if that same agency reports the annual total is 22 million short tons or less. Readers often mistake the linked basketball story for a relevant factor, but only the EIA's official coal data counts.
Written from Kalshi's resolution rules by the same model that writes our headlines. The rules on Kalshi are what decides it.
